Copy and paste workouts, days and weeks to other athletes, groups and plans
Copy a workout, a whole day or a whole training week and paste it on another date, for another athlete, for a whole group or into a static or dynamic plan.
You only need to write a workout once. Copy a single workout, a whole day or a whole training week, then paste it on another date, into another athlete's calendar, for everyone in a group or into a plan. It's the fastest way to reuse a week for several clients or repeat a training block.
Copy
- A workout: open the workout's menu, or right-click the workout, and choose Copy.
- A day: open the options menu at the top right of the day, or right-click an empty part of the day, and choose Copy. Everything planned that day is copied, including notes and events.
- A week: open the menu next to the week name and choose Copy week.
Paste
- Go to where you want the copy: another date, another athlete, a group or a plan. To switch athletes quickly, use the athlete list at the top left (see How to access and navigate your athletes more easily).
- For a workout or a day, open the target day's menu and choose Paste. For a week, open the target week's menu and choose Paste week.
What you copied stays ready until you copy something else, so you can paste the same week into several athletes, one after another.
Copy several days at once
- Click the top of a day (not the + or the menu) to select it.
- Shift-click another day to select every day in between, or Cmd-click (Mac) / Ctrl-click (Windows) to add or remove single days.
- Press Cmd+C / Ctrl+C, or choose Copy in the day menu.
- Select the day where the pasted days should start and press Cmd+V / Ctrl+V, or choose Paste in that day's menu. The days are pasted in a row from there.
Press Esc to clear the selection. A multi-day copy only lasts while the calendar page is open. If you reload the page, copy the days again.
Paste for a whole group
In a group's calendar, each athlete has a row, and the day and week menus in a row only affect that athlete. To paste for everyone, open the menu next to the day name in the top row of the group calendar and choose Paste. Each athlete in the group gets their own copy of the workout or day. That top row has no week option. To give the whole group the same week, paste the week into a dynamic plan that the group follows.
Save a week as a reusable template
- In the athlete's calendar, open the week menu and choose Copy week.
- Go to Plans and open a static plan, or create one (see How to create a static plan and assign it to a client on a specific date).
- Open the menu of the plan week you want to fill and choose Paste week.
You can then assign the plan to athletes or groups whenever you need it. Copy and paste also works from a static or dynamic plan into an athlete's calendar, and between plans. Anything you paste into a dynamic plan is added to the plan, so every athlete following it sees it (see Train online training groups with Dynamic Plans).
Good to know
- Pasted items are new planned workouts. Editing them doesn't change the originals, and completion status and feeling ratings aren't copied.
- When you copy a day or a week, activities synced from a watch or app and body metrics are left out.
- You can't paste a day onto the same day of the same athlete. To duplicate a single workout by dragging it with Cmd or Ctrl held down, see How to Quickly Duplicate a Workout in TrainerPlan.
- Athletes can copy and paste workouts and days in their own calendar.
- Copy and paste is available on the web, not in the mobile app.
