Global search: find athletes, groups and plans from anywhere

Open global search with the magnifying glass or Shift + / to jump to any athlete, group or plan, or search an athlete's workouts from their calendar.

Global search finds an athlete, group or training plan by name and opens it from any page, so you don't have to scroll through your athlete list or your plans. It's the quickest way to look up a client, jump to a group calendar or open a plan. Global search is available on coach accounts.

Open global search

  • Click the magnifying glass in the top bar, on any page.
  • Or press Shift + / when you aren't typing in a text field.

The keyboard shortcut works on keyboards where you type / with Shift, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French and German layouts (Shift + 7 on a Spanish or Portuguese keyboard). On US and UK keyboards, where / has its own key, use the magnifying glass instead.

Find and open a result

  1. Type at least 3 characters of the name in the Search for athletes, groups or plans box.
  2. Results are split into tabs: Athletes, Groups, Dynamic Plans and Static Plans. The number next to each tab shows how many matches it has. Click a tab to see them.
  3. Click a result to open it. An athlete opens on their calendar, a group on the group calendar and a plan on its calendar.

Athlete results also have three icons on the right: Calendar, Profile and Message, which opens your chat with that athlete. Hover over an icon to see its name. Press Esc or click outside the search box to close it.

Search an athlete's workouts

Global search doesn't look inside workouts. To find a session in an athlete's history, search from their calendar:

  1. Open the athlete's calendar and click the magnifying glass on the right of the calendar toolbar. The search box changes to Search workouts...
  2. Type at least 3 characters of the workout title.
  3. To narrow the list, click the filter icon: choose workout types, set Date from and Date to, limit duration, distance or effort, or change Sort by.
  4. Click a workout to jump to it on the calendar.

Good to know

  • Archived athletes don't appear in global search.
  • Each tab lists up to 10 matches and shows 10+ when there are more. Type more of the name to narrow it down.
  • If you own or administer a coaching team, the results also include your team's athletes and groups.
  • Athletes have the same workout search on their own calendar. On a Basic (free) account it shows the first 3 matches, and the filters need Athlete Premium.
  • To move between athletes while you plan, you can also open the athlete sidebar on the calendar. See How to access and navigate your athletes more easily.
