The Athletes screen
Each row is an athlete, with their weekly compliance, their next event and their last session. You can filter the list by group or by plan, and switch between the table and card views.
Add an athlete
- In Athletes, click Invite athlete.
- Choose how to invite them:
- Invitation link: click Copy and send it by WhatsApp or email. This is the quickest way.
- Create the account yourself: enter their first name, last name and email, and they receive the invitation.
- Once the athlete signs up and downloads the app, they appear in your list.
Profile and zones
Each athlete has their own record, with these sections:
- Profile: their basic details and time zone.
- Best marks: their records.
- Body Metrics: weight, height and resting heart rate.
- Connections: what they sync with, such as Garmin, Strava or COROS.
The most important thing at the start is the zones. They are calculated from the thresholds you enter (maximum and resting heart rate, threshold power or threshold pace) and they are different for each sport. If you turn on threshold detection, TrainerPlan detects improvements in the workouts and suggests updating the thresholds.
The calendar
On the calendar, each card compares what was planned with what the athlete actually did:
- Green: the session was completed.
- Yellow: the athlete fell short or went over.
To the right of each week you have its summary: time, distance and training load.
Analyse a completed session
- Open a completed session. The steps you planned are at the top.
- Click Analyze to see the pace and heart rate chart for the whole workout.
- Below you have the laps one by one: distance, time, pace and heart rate.
Build a session step by step
- Click the + on the day and give the session a title.
- Add the warm-up as the first step, for example 15 minutes in zone 1.
- Add a step for the interval, for example 400 metres with a pace target.
- Click Repeat Step to repeat the interval as many times as you want, and add the recovery inside the repeat.
- Finish with the cool-down. The preview draws the whole session.
- Write the description and click Add.
The session appears on the calendar and the athlete gets a notification on their phone, with the steps ready to send to their watch.
Library and templates
There is no need to write the sessions you repeat again. Open the library from the calendar and drag any template onto the day you want. From each day's menu you can also copy and paste whole days or weeks. Templates are organised in folders, by sport or by plan.
The dashboard
The dashboard summarises the athlete's progress over the period you choose:
- Fitness: the training load built up over the last six weeks.
- Fatigue: the load of the last week.
- Form: the difference between the two. When it goes up, the athlete arrives fresh.
- Relative load: warns you if you are raising the volume too quickly.
Further down you have planned versus actual duration, week by week, and the library on the left has more charts to drag onto the panel.
